Promotional Conference of the Serbian Energy Law Association

On 4th December 2018 the Promotional Conference of the Serbian Energy Law Association (UPES) was held in the premises of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce in Belgrade, Terazije 23, 2nd floor. The name of the conference is: ENERGY LAW ASSOCIATION WITHIN THE FUTURE ENERGY MARKET.

The conference was opened by welcome speech of UPES President Ms. Branislava Lepotić Kovačević PhD, while the introductory speeches were given by President of the European Federation of Energy Law Associations (EFELA), Mr. Vincente Lopez-Ibor Mayor and the chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Energy Policy, Ms. Aleksandra Tomić, PhD1.

The key topics of the Conference were discussed at two panels:

  1. Development directions of the energy law – which examined the different aspects of sub-areas of energy (electricity, natural gas, renewables) and various fields of economy and international organizations. Moderator: Mira Todorović Simeonides, Rokas Law Office, Partner and

  2. Energy market stakeholders –

    participants of the energy market (energy supply undertakings, energy purchasers, regulators, judges, attorneys and representatives of the energy market infrastructure). Moderator Miloš Laković, Partner, Moravčević Vojnović and Partners AOD in cooperation with Schoenherr.

 

The conference conclusions were presented by Đorđe Popović, Partner, Petrikić & Partneri AOD in cooperation with CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz, with the remark that the discussed issues only opened the area for further work of УПЕС.

At the conference there were more than 100 participants: lawyers and other energy experts from Serbia and beyond, members of the European Federation of Energy Law Associations – EFELA, national associations in the field of energy law from other countries, representatives of professional energy expert associations, representatives of important economic entities in the field of energy from Serbia and beyond, representatives of key energy companies both Serbian and foreign, representatives from institutions in the field of energy and other energy-related field.
