On August 24, 2023, the Association for Energy Law of Serbia (UPES) organized a meeting of UPES members with Christian Egenhofer, professor at the School of Transnational Governance, European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy.

The main topics of discussion were the electricity market, renewable energy sources, electric vehicles, electricity storage, as well as European trends in the aforementioned areas. Also, the goals of European countries related to decarbonization and the share of renewable energy sources in the energy mix were discussed, as well as the possibilities and preconditions for their achievement.

The lecture sparked a lively discussion in which numerous issues were raised that contributed to a better understanding of the challenges and potential for improvement in the aforementioned areas. The acquired knowledge is invaluable because good European practices can be applied in the Republic of Serbia.
