On 6 September 2021, the Serbian Energy Law Association signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Serbian National Committee CIRED (International Conference on Electricity Distribution).

By signing this memorandum of cooperation, UPES and CIRED Serbia have legally established cooperation that already exists in practice and about which you have already been informed about at the UPES roundtable held on 1 September 2021 in Vrnjačka Banja within the 12th Conference on Electricity Distribution networks – CIRED.

The goals of CIRED are to develop professional competencies and abilities, skills and knowledge, in the broadest field of electricity distribution, including distributed production.

CIRED was founded by the Belgian AIM – Association of Engineers with a degree from the Montefiore Institute of Electrical Engineering in Liege, one of Europe’s oldest electrical engineering schools, today a faculty – and the British IEE (today IET: Association of Engineers and Technologists; Europe’s largest association of its kind).

The first CIRED conference was held in May 1971 in Liege, and since then CIRED has been the main gathering place for the world’s “electricity distribution community”. More information can be found at: http://www.ciredserbia.org.rs/
